Does anyone out there know the status on Irv Jacobs and John Piccard the managers at the Main PLace Mall Sattlers?

OK, who dumped the Texas Pete in Mike Milkie's goldfish aquarium after having several cold brews? Remember the dead dude Mike found in his Men's room sitting on the can when he opened up the next morning? He set a world record for sitting on the can this longest without moving! lmao

I worked at that store from 1973 to 1977 and was wondering the same thing. Irv Jacobs was a tremendous easygoing man. John Picard (I did not know him as well) always had the Football bets available by Friday! When Jacobs left, he went to a clothing store as manager. Lost track of him from there.

hello all from Mike Genau-security. :(Sadly I have been told told by Karl Leonard-security that John Picard had passed a couple of years ago. As for Mr. Jacobs, I have not heard anything of him but one thing I can say is that he was a great man to work for even in his role as store manager. I would love to hear from anyone I worked with at either MainPlace or 998. :)I had some of the best times of my life working for Sattler's from 73 to 80. I've got some great pictures of the softball games the stores had. I will be getting with the Web Admin. to try and get some of them posted. I am hoping to hear from some of my friends.

Hi Mike ;D We had a great group at the Main Place Mall Store. More like one big family. One of the best jobs I've had.

Hi anyone....
I have a new book coming out this spring/summer on Buffalo's old stores, the title is Nine Nine Eight.
Does anyone have old Sattler's photos that haven't been published?
Thanks
Mike Rizzo

I would love to see photos of the old Sattler's 998. Very few out there, from what I can tell. Did anyone in that family keep a scrapbook? My parents worked at "998" in the '50s, but they did not take photos at work...
